Uploading and Deleting Photos

Adding photos to your Roommates.com profile is entirely optional, but we highly recommend it, as it can increase your chances of connecting with the perfect roommate. As such, we make uploading, editing, and deleting photos a snap on Roommates.com!

When you first create your Roommates.com profile, you'll be prompted to upload a photo of yourself (which serves as your profile photo), as well as photos of your place (if you're offering a room as a "Have a Room" user). If you skip uploading photos while setting up your account, you're always free to upload photos at a later point using the procedure outlined below.

To Upload a Photo:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. To upload profile pictures of yourself:
    1. Click the Menu Icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper right.
    2. Click Edit My Profile.
    3. Click Choose Another Photo below your main profile picture, select the appropriate photo from your device, and click "Open".
    4. To add additional profile pics, scroll to the bottom, click the photo icon with a "plus" symbol in the Additional Profile Photos section, select the appropriate photo from your device, and click "Open".
    5. Click Save at the bottom once you've finished uploading photos.
  3. To upload photos of your available room/home:
    1. Access your Dashboard.
    2. Click Edit in the Listing you wish to add a photo to.
    3. Scroll down to the Property Photos section.
    4. Click the photo icon with a "plus" symbol, select the appropriate photo from your device, and click "Open".
    5. Click Update Listing at the bottom once you've finished uploading photos.

Please note: Roommates.com accepts the following photo file types: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .png. Additionally, photos must not exceed the following size parameters: 

  • Max image file size - 40MB
  • Max Raw file size - 40MB
  • Max image megapixels - 50MP

To Delete a Photo:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. To delete profile pictures:
    1. Click the Menu Icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper right.
    2. Click Edit My Profile.
    3. Your Primary Profile photo can't be deleted, but you can upload another photo to replace it. Click "Choose Another Photo" below your main profile picture, select the appropriate photo from your device, and click "Open".
    4. To delete additional profile pics, scroll to the bottom, locate the "Additional Profile Photos" section, and click the red "X" in the upper-right of the thumbnail(s) of the photo(s) you wish to remove.
    5. Click "Save" at the bottom once you've finished deleting photos.
  3. To delete photos of your available room/home:
    1. Access your Dashboard.
    2. Click Edit in the Listing you wish to add a photo to.
    3. Scroll down to the Property Photos section.
    4. Click the red "Garbage Can" icon in the upper-right of the thumbnail(s) of the photo(s) you wish to remove.
    5. Click Update Listing at the bottom once you've finished removing photos.
