Switch Account Type
Your Roommates.com account can be categorized as one of two types: a "Need a Room" account (i.e. an account which can be used to search for available rooms to rent in specific areas) or a "Have a Room" account (i.e. an account offering an available room for rent in your current home).
We understand that you may need to switch your account type if your needs change, so we make it easy to do so at any time if necessary.
To Switch Your Account Type:
- Login to your account.
- Click the Menu Icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right.
- Click Account Settings below.
- Scroll down to the Listing Type section.
- Click Switch Account Type.
- Confirm your decision to switch your account type via the pop-up.
- Switching your Account Type will automatically archive any of your existing listings. After switching your Account Type, you can then create new listings which correspond with your new account type from your Dashboard.
Please note: in order to switch your account type, you will need to be signed in to your Roommates.com account through a browser. This action cannot be performed through our iOS app at this time.
