Archiving a Message

Is your Inbox a little crowded, making it difficult to locate a specific Conversation Thread with another user? Do you have a specific Conversation Thread that you want to clear out? If so, we've got you covered! Our "Archive" Message Center option enables you to clear messages out of your Inbox to declutter...out with the old, in with the new!

To Archive a Conversation Thread:

  1. Login to your Roommates.com account.
  2. Navigate to your Message Center by clicking on "Messages". (If you're using a laptop/desktop, the "Messages" tab can be located in the upper-right. If you're using a mobile device, tap the three horizontal lines in the upper left, and then tap "Messages".)
  3. Click on the Conversation Thread you wish to archive.
  4. Click the red "Archive" option.
  5. Confirm your wish to archive the message.

If you change your mind and decide that you need to "unarchive" a specific archived message in order to move it back to your Inbox, not a problem! The process is simple.

To Unarchive a Conversation Thread:

  3. Toggle your Inbox to your Archive by clicking on "Archive" right beneath your profile picture or avatar.
  4. Choose the conversation you'd like to un-archive. Click on the red "Restore" option.
  5. The thread should now appear in your Inbox.

Please note: we do not currently offer an option which enables users to permanently delete Conversation Threads. However, archiving a Conversation Thread achieves a similar result. Additionally, Conversation Threads are automatically removed by the system after 120 days in order to help keep your Inbox clutter-free. If you feel that you may need to retain messages for longer than 120 days, we recommend taking screenshots of the Conversation Thread(s) if necessary.
