Reporting Unauthorized Charges
We take billing concerns very seriously. If you notice a charge you didn’t expect, the steps you take depend on whether or not you’ve ever created a Roommates.com account.
If you have a Roommates.com account:
Sometimes charges occur because of a recurring membership or unexpected activity on an account. To help us quickly review your concern, please contact us using the email address linked to your Roommates.com account and include:
- The date and amount of the charge
- The last 4 digits of the card used
- Any additional details you feel are necessary
Providing this information ensures we can locate the account and review your request as efficiently as possible.
Note: If your charge was made through our iOS app, please know that payments are processed by Apple. As such, Roommates.com cannot cancel or refund these charges. To manage or request a refund for an iOS subscription, see our Managing Your iOS Subscription Help Center article.
If you do not have a Roommates.com account:
If you’ve never created an account with us but see a charge, please check the billing description on your card statement:
- If the charge was made to Roommates.com, contact us with the following details so we can investigate:
- The date and amount of the charge
- The last 4 digits of the card used
- Any additional info you feel we need
- If the charge was made to Apple, this indicates the payment was made through the iOS app. Since Apple processes these payments directly, please visit Apple’s guide on how to cancel a subscription or request a refund.
