Search Beyond Your Matches
Curious to find other users who didn't quite make the "Perfect Match" cut? Simply use the Search option to discover potential roommates in your selected area! This can be a great way to increase your options, which can in turn increase your chances of finding the perfect roommate.
To locate our Search page, simply login to your account and click the "Search" tab at the top (if using a laptop/desktop), or tap the three horizonal lines in the upper-right and then tap "Search" on the next page (if using a mobile device).
While performing a Search, you'll be able to set a few basic search parameters:
- Your Search Location (city/state or zip code)
- Member Type (limits your search to users who Need a Room, Have a Room, or All Members)
- Your Search Range (limits your search to a mile radius surrounding your Search Location)
- Your Search Order (organizes results by Newest, Lowest Rent, Last Active, or Earliest Move-In)
If you need to specify additional search parameters, no worries! You can use Filters to fine-tune your results. Simply set different options in the "Filters" section to the left (if using a laptop/desktop) or simply tap the "Filters" button (if using a mobile device).
You can Filter search results using the following criteria:
- ID-Verified Only
- Move-In Date
- Min/Max Rent
- Gender Preference
- College or University
- Age Range
- Pet Ownership
- Smoking/Non-Smoking
- Badges (a series of options which let you select hobbies, personality types, and personal interests, all of which can help you locate like-minded roommate options!)
While performing Searches, please keep the following in mind:
- The "Search Location" you select refers to the location of the user's home/available room (if you're searching for users who Have a Room) or at least one of the locations the user has selected as an area they're interested in living in (if you're searching for users who Need a Room).
- Search results are determined by the criteria entered on the Search page only; they are not determined by the Roommate Preferences you set up when you created your account.
- Please know that you can "Favorite" any of your search results in order to save the profile for later! Check out our Favoriting Matches page for instructions!
