Create/Edit Your Profile
Once you create a Roommates.com account, you're automatically prompted to create a Profile. This Profile contains key information about you, like your birth date, your gender identity, and the profile pic other users will see.
To Create Your Profile:
- If you haven't created a profile yet, you should be automatically redirected to the profile completion page.
- If you ended up on a different page, you should see a header at the top reading Heads up: your profile is incomplete. Click Complete my profile now to set up your profile, or click Edit My Profile in the Main Menu to get to the profile completion page.
- Click Upload Photo, select a Photo from your device, and click Open to upload a Profile Pic.
- Click to select the appropriate Gender Identity option.
- Enter your birth date using the drop-downs to select Year, Month, and Day.
- Click Continue to Dashboard to finish.
Once you've created a Profile, you'll be free to perform Searches and purchase a VIP Membership.
To unlock additional features (such as receiving Matches, adding Favorites, and using our Message Center), it is necessary to create at least one Listing. Listings help to communicate what you're looking for in your roommate search to other users of the site.
If necessary, you can always update your Profile down the road if necessary:
To Edit Your Profile:
- Click the Menu Icon (i.e. three horizontal lines) in the upper-right while logged in.
- Click Edit My Profile in the Menu below.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Click Save and Continue.
