The Roommates.com Cyber Week Sale is officially live! 📢 From December 1st, 2025 at 12:01 AM through December 7th, 2025 at 11:59 PM, you can upgrade to a VIP membership at some of the best prices we offer all year. This guide covers the most common questions so you can make the most of the sale.

What discounts are available?

For website purchases:

• 6-Month VIP Membership: $17.50 (regularly $35)
• 1-Year VIP Membership: $24.50 (regularly $50)

For iOS app purchases:

• 6-Month VIP Membership: $19.99 (regularly $40)
• 1-Year VIP Membership: $29.99 (regularly $56)

Do I need a promo code?

• If you’re purchasing on the Roommates.com website, the promo code is applied automatically.
• If you’re using the iOS app, you’ll need to manually enter the promo code during checkout. You can do so by tapping the Have an offer code? Tap to redeem button on the VIP Membership page within the iOS app, enter the code, and sign in to Apple to complete the transaction.

What are the promo codes?

As indicated above, you'll only need to enter the promo code if you're using the iOS app. Available promo codes for the Cyber Week Sale are:

• CM20256 (valid for the 6-month VIP membership)
• CM2025Y (valid for the 1-year VIP membership)

To redeem the promo code through the iOS app, tap the Have an offer code? Tap to redeem button on the VIP Membership page within the iOS app, enter the code, and sign in to Apple to complete the transaction.

Does the discount apply to renewals?

No. Cyber Week pricing applies only to your first billing cycle. Any future renewals will be billed at the regular membership price.

I already have a VIP membership. Can I upgrade my membership during the sale?

Absolutely! If you upgrade to a longer membership term during the promo, you’ll receive a prorated credit for any unused time on your current plan. That prorated credit is then applied to the Cyber Monday pricing (provided that you're upgrading to the 6-month or 1-year membership tier), so you'll then be charged even less than the discounted Cyber Monday prices.

• Example: Say I just purchased a 30-day membership at the normal price of $12.00, and I decide to immediately upgrade to the 6-month membership to take advantage of the discounted price of $17.50. When I upgrade to the 6-month membership, a $12.00 credit is applied towards the upgrade purchase (to reflect my unused time from the 30-day membership), so I'm charged $5.50 instead of $17.50.

Why is the amount I’m being charged different from the promo price?

As indicated in the example above, if you’re upgrading from an existing plan, your prorated credit may reduce what you owe. The automatic prorated credit reflects any unused time from your current membership. The discount still applies, but your total may be lower than the full promo price.

Will my renewal be at the discounted rate?

No. Renewal prices return to the regular rate once your initial discounted term ends.

I don't see the discount applied. What should I do?

• Website users should see the promo applied automatically at checkout.
• iOS users should double-check that the promo code was entered. Again, you can tap the Have an offer code? Tap to redeem button to redeem the promo code through the app. If the promo didn’t apply, you may need to sign out/restart the app/sign back in.

What happens if I miss the promotion window?

Cyber Week pricing is only available during the listed dates. Purchases made before or after the promo period are billed at the regular rate.
